There is anger among Hindu organizations as well as saints and monks over the statement of Iltija, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, calling Hindutva a disease.
New Delhi | Dec 10, 2024:: PDP leader Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has sparked outrage among Hindu organizations, saints, and monks by labeling Hindutva a disease. Her statement, “Hindutva is a disease that has made millions of Indians sick. It is also tarnishing the name of God,” went viral and drew strong condemnation from Mahamandaleshwar of Ujjain’s Awahan Akhara, Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara, and District President of 13 Akharas Rameshwar Das.
They countered that Hindutva has been tormenting those who oppose it for 800 years, implying a long history of perceived persecution. Rameshwar Das further emphasized, “If you don’t love India, then go to Bangladesh and Pakistan,” suggesting that those who criticize Hindutva should leave the country.
Iltija gave a statement regarding Hindutva
According to the information, on December 6, Iltija shared a video on her social media platform ‘X’, which was later removed. In the video, some people were seen forcing minor Muslim boys to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Regarding this, Iltija had said, “The slogan of Jai Shri Ram is no longer about Ram Rajya. It is used during mob lynching”. The People’s Democratic Party leader said these things after an alleged viral video surfaced.
As the statement went viral, two organizations of Kashmiri Pandits, Panun Kashmir and Roots in Kashmir, have lodged a police complaint against Iltija. They allege that she has insulted Hindus.
Mahamandaleshwars of Juna Akhara expressed strong objection
Along with Mahamandaleshwar, sadhus and saints have also expressed strong objection to the statement given by PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija on Hindutva in Jammu and Kashmir. Mahamandaleshwar Shaileshanand of Juna Akhara said that how did they get the strength to speak against Hindutva. If they want to gain cheap popularity, then they will keep giving such statements somewhere or the other. If these people do not love India, then they should go to Bangladesh and Pakistan. No one will stop them. The era of Hindu renaissance is going on. The era of restoration of Hindus is going on. Hindus will neither stop nor bow down now. He said that those who are not getting any issue now are giving such statements.
Hindutva’s disease will remain incurable: Atuleshanand
Awahan Akhara‘s Mahamandaleshwar Atuleshanand said that if such a thing would have been said in any other country, a case of treason could have been registered till now. But, it is India and Hindutva that has been tolerating you in the country for 800 years. Stay away from this, now saffron India will be established. Madrasa-type Iltija Mufti, look at the history of your forefathers, what are their names. Iltija Mufti has made objectionable comments about Hindutva. If you consider Hindutva a disease, then it will remain incurable and will be more fatal for you.
The local president of the Akhada Parishad said that
Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh Akhada Parishad’s local president Rameshwar Das said that we condemn Iltija Mufti’s statement. The way they talk about Pakistan or Bangladesh while living in Hindustan, if they like it so much, why don’t they go to Bangladesh or Pakistan, they should follow the constitution here.
