They submitted a representation to the BCCI’s Special Executive Officer, calling for the cancellation of Bangladesh’s tour to India from September 19 to October 12.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has expressed concerns over the treatment of Hindus in Bangladesh, citing increased attacks since Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. Specifically, they mentioned the brutal assault of Utsav Mandal, a young Hindu, by a Jihadi mob inside a police station on alleged blasphemy charges.
Ramesh Shinde, HJS national spokesperson, emphasized that India should take a strong stance against the violence targeting Hindus in Bangladesh, similar to how Muslim countries unite against attacks on their community. This comes amid the India-Bangladesh cricket series, with the HJS urging the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cancel the matches [no source available for this information].
The cricket series is scheduled to begin on September 19, with India hosting Bangladesh for two Test matches and three T20s. However, the HJS’s concerns highlight the broader issues of violence and persecution faced by Hindus in Bangladesh.
