New Delhi, Feb 3: Condemning the alleged recent hate speeches against particular communities, senior RSS leader and Patron of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) Dr. Indresh Kumar has demanded stern punitive action as per the law of the land action against those who indulge in hate speeches and spread hatred among the communities in our country.
In an interview with the Press Trust of India (PTI), Kumar condemned the “politics of hate” describing it as another type of “corruption”. He appealed to all the political parties and their leaders to refrain from indulging in hate-mongering and pitting one section of the society against the other. His statement came against the background of hate speeches being made against a particular community at Dharma Sansad in Hardwar in Uttarakhand and in Chattisgarh recently.
He said that these leaders would do well if they practice the “Politics of brotherhood and development” instead of making provocative and divisive remarks against any community, caste, or group. This will not serve the interest of the country and its people, he said.
“Any kind of hate speech is condemnable. All hate speeches must be condemned and punished as per law. Nobody should be treated as an exception,” he said when asked for his view on the alleged hate speeches delivered at a Dharma Sansad in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar and a similar event in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur recently.
Indresh Kumar listed numerous examples of such ‘cruel’ hate speeches and demanded stern legal action against all those who indulged in such divisive activities. “It is the need of the hour to take such legal action against them”, he insisted stating that such divisive acts and words vitiate the peace and atmosphere and social harmony.
Targeting Congress and other parties for blaming the RSS and its ideology of Hindutva for the assassination of Gandhi he said that they have been leveling unfounded charges “though they lack any concrete evidence” to substantiate their charges.
For over six decades, we have been hearing that the RSS and its Hindutva ideology were responsible for the murder of Gandhi. Even RSS was banned. But the Congress, its leaders, and the leaders of the other opposition parties could not prove the allegation even after they remained in power for over six decades, he said.
These baseless and unfounded allegations against the RSS are nothing but a ‘cruel’ hate speech he charged and asked why no action was taken against them so far. Without naming Congress MP Rahul Gandhi who said in his recent speeches that a ‘Hindutvawadi’ had killed Gandhi, Indresh Kumar said that this is also a hate speech.
He explained that such unfounded allegations create hatred against one section of people against the other and should also be considered as ‘hate speeches’.
“All hate speeches should be looked at through the same prism. We cannot make a distinction between one set of action or speech with the other while both are same in its nature and essence—hateful, provocative, and divisive,” he said.
“Action should be taken against all those who deliver hate speeches, no matter how big and influential they are or which party or group they belong to. It is the need of the hour,” he added.
